Matthew E. Gabaldon

Matthew E. Gabaldon, 44, a resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away on January 4, 2022 following a brief illness.  Matthew was the son of Anna Romero and Tino Gabaldon, both of Las Vegas, NM. He is survived by his parents, Tino Gabaldon and Anna Romero of Las Vegas; step-children:   Chastity, Chaz and Justyce Garcia; a nephew, Aaron Gabaldon; brother, Steven Gabaldon; a sister, Starlette Gabaldon, a god daughter, MaRian Brotaerton; and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents:  Tircio and Nora Romero and Philiberto and Alicia Gabaldon.

            Matthew loved working in local restaurant’s including La Fiesta as a longtime cook.  His favorite NFL team were the Cincinnati Bengals.  Matthew enjoyed cooking, fishing (but not eating fish), playing pool and spending time with his family and friends always joking around.

             Services will be held from Our Lady of Sorrows Church on Friday, January 21, 2022 with a rosary beginning at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial.  Father Rob Yaksick will celebrate the Mass.  Cremation has taken place and the interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with the following serving as urn bearers:  Roger Romero and Ryan Gabaldon.
