Napoleon Otero

Napoleon Otero, 81, a long time resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away on Tuesday at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Albina Apodaca Otero and two sisters: Isabel Espinoza and Geneva Otero. He is survived by his wife Mary of the family home; five daughters: Mary Rose C de Baca and husband Elias of Santa Fe, NM; Martha Montoya of San Ignacio, NM, Dolores Encinias of Villanueva, NM, Marcelena Mascarenas and husband Isidro and Agnes Romero both of Las Vegas, NM; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was born in La Liendre, NM on July 13, 1930 and married Mary Hoogerhuis 61 years ago. He was employed by the Red Top Drilling Company. He retired from there after serving 50 years with the company.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church at 9:00 a.m. Father Douglas Mitchell will celebrate the Mass. The interment will follow in the San Jose Cemetery. Casket bearers will be John C de Baca, Michael C de Baca, Joe Montoya, Matthew Romero, Antonio Montoya, Ramon Montoya, Juan Diego Encinias, and Estevan Romero.
