Natividad "Tiva" (Salazar) Roybal

Natividad S. Roybal, 91, a long time resident of El Porvenir, NM, passed away at her residence on Friday, June, 8, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfredo and Margarita Trujillo Salazar; her husband Tony R. Roybal; and her three brothers Julian , Cherro and Ruben Salazar. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Loe of El Porvenir, NM; four sisters: Pauline Garcia of Hernandez, NM, Rosalie Shane and husband Charlie of El Paso, TX, Lucy Serna and husband Orlando of Chamita, NM, and Connie Rodriguez and husband Eddie of Los Lunas, NM; two brothers: Gilbert Salazar and wife Nora and Dewey Salazar and wife Helen all of Chamita, NM; two sisters-in-law, Elvira and Theresa Salazar both of Chamita, NM; two grandchildren, Lacey S. Loe and wife Katherine of Chino Hills, CA and Krystal Loe Hollick of Indianapolis, IN, and three great-grandchildren, Lucas Loe, and Anthony and Maxx Hollick.
She was born in Chamita, NM on August 4, 1920. She attended undergraduate studies atNew Mexico Highlands University and in Indianapolis and received her bachelors degree and was an elementary school teacher for over 25 years and taught in El Porvenir, Albuquerque Public Schools, and the Mora Elementary School. She married Tony R. Roybal on October 8, 1945 at San Juan Pueblo, NM. She and her husband owned and operated the El Rito de San Jose Cabins in El Porvenir, NM. Her hobbies included fishing, cooking, gardening, and working crossword puzzles.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m until 4:00 p.m. in St. Francis Chapel at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations, 2315 Hot Springs Blvd. Las Vegas, NM Services will be held from Our Lady of Sorrows Church on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 beginning with a rosary at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. The interment will follow in the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
