Ramon D. Gurule, 81, a resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away on Tuesday, October 30., 2018 following a prolonged illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lenore Olivas Gurule; his first wife, Mariquita Gurule, a brother, Richard Gurule, a grandson, James Gurule, and his grandmother, Juanita Olivas.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille of Las Vegas, NM; four daughters: Barbara Zesati of Brighton, CO, Reena Sena (George) of Las Vegas, NM, Shirley Sandoval (Michael) of North San Isidro, NM, and Anabell Latimore of Wasilla, AK; four sons: Ramon Gurule Jr. (Georgette) of Commerce City, CO, James and David Gurule both of Brighton, CO, and Luis Aragon (Yolanda) of San Jose, NM; four brothers: Leo Gurule (Mary) of Thorton, CO, Frank and Severo Gurule both of Denver, CO, Joe Gurule (Crystal) and Ernest Gurule (Sally) all of Lake Jackson, TX; five sisters: Teresa Trujillo (Eddie) of Denver, CO, Mary Griego, Aggie Griego, Flora Barela (Manuel) and Patsy Sena all of Las Vegas, NM; 25 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchlld.
He was born in Manuelitas, NM on February 28, 1937. He was a foreman for the Olson Construction Company doing commercial construction. He was an auto mechanic and painted cars and enjoyed the casinos. He liked hot rodding and tinkering with appliances.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 in St. Francis Chapel at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations, 2315 Hot Springs Blvd., from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited on Friday evening, November 2, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. from Our Lady of Sorrows Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning, November 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Father Rob Yaksich will celebrate the Mass. Cremation will follow the services and the interment of the cremains will be on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 in Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Sapello, NM with the following serving as casket bearers: George Sena Jr., Travis Sena, Ramon Gurule III, Patrick Sandoval, Del Gonzales, and Angelo Aragon. Honorary bearers will be all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
