RAMONA R. BENAVIDEZ
Ramona R. Benavidez, 75, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grand mother, and a resident of San Ysidro Sur, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe on Sunday following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Candido and Sofia Bowles Ruiz; a son, Lawrence Benavidez, and a grandson, Adam.She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Benancio Benavidez of San Ysidro Sur; five sons, David Benavidez and Edwin Benavidez and wife Susan all of Pecos, NM; Ben Benavidez Jr. and wife Nessy of El Paso, TX, Richard Benavidez of Albuqeruque, and Fred Benavidez and wife Mary of Rockledge, FL; two daughters, Veronica Lopez and Belinda Stallings and husband Cliff all of Gilbert, AZ; two brothers, Luciano Ruiz and wife Priscilla of Denver, CO, and Fidel Ruiz and wife Cora of Pecos, NM; three sisters, Clara Blevins and husband Eugene of Canadian, TX, Louise Palomino and husband Baltazar of Santa Fe, and Natividad Lucero and husband Joe of Belen, NM; 27 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was born in Colonias, New Mexico on April 3, 1931 and married Benancio Benavidez on December 31, 1952 in Pecos, NM. She was a member of the San Miguel del Vado Parish and was a member of the San Miguel Church Choir.A rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. from the San Miguel del Vado Church in San Miguel, NM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. from the San Miguel del Vado Church. Following the services cremation will take place and the committal service will be held on Thursday afternoon in the San Ysidro Sur Catholic Cemetery.
