Rebecca A. Le Febre,, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away on Sunday at her home following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hipolito and Florina Garcia Apodaca; her husband, Moises LeFebre in 2001; two sons, Eddie LeFebre in 1976 and William LeFebre in 1992; a brother Joe Apodaca; and a sister Corina Gonzales.
She is survived by one son, Levi LeFebre of the family home; three grandsons: Orlando LeFebre, Patricio LeFebre,a nd Levi LeFebre Jr all of Las Vegas, NM; two granddaughters: Christine LeFebre Casaus and husband Donald of Edgewood, NM and Rebecca Martinez and husband Shawn of Las Vegas, NM; two brothers, Rudy Apodaca and wife Mary Esther and George Apodaca all of Tucumcari, NM; four sisters, Eva Garcia of Los Lunas, NM, Vickie Paiz of Tucumcari, NM, Viola of Denver, CO, and Stella Roybal and husband John of Tucumcari, NM; the mother of her grandchildren (Orlando, Christine, & Rebecca), Brenda T. Rogers and husband Billy of Las Vegas, NM; a special friend, Manuel "Tocha" Chavez of Las Vegas, NM; and by numerous god-children.
She was born in Beulah, NM and was a Robertson High School graduate. She married Moises LeFebre at Our Lady of Sorrows Church on October 19, 1952. She was a devout Catholic and was a member and former mayordomo at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. She sang in Our Lady of the Rosary and the Santa Teresita Choirs. She lived Cursillo # 297 and was a member of the Sociedad de San Jose, and the Primara Damas. She also was a life member and past president of the VFW Post #1547 Ladies Auxiliary, the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary, and the Senior Citizens Circle. She enjoyed crocheting and was a bingo caller for the Senior Citizens.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in St. Francis Chapel at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations, 2315 Hot Springs Blvd. All services will be held from Our Lady of Sorrows Church with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday by Carlos Lopez and the Sociedad de San Jose on Tuesday evening at 7:00. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. Father C. John Brasher will celebrate the Mass. The interment will follow in the family plot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Our Lady of the Rosary Choir of which she was a member will provide the music for the services. The family has requested that memorials may be sent to the Heating and Air Conditioning Fund at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 403 Valencia Street, Las Vegas, NM 87701.
