Regino L. Gallegos

Regino J. Gallegos, 83, a resident of Villanueva, NM passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Vida Encantada Nursing and Rehab Center. The last of 16 children, he was preceded in death by his parents, Eutimio and Placida Villanueva Gallegos; his wife, Oralia L. Gallegos; his brothers and sisters: Manuel, Piedad, Fernando, Maria, Pedro, Rita, Juan, Eutimia, Frank, Feliz, Manuel, Pelagia, Juan, Rita, and Guadalupe Gallegos. He is survived by his niece and caregiver, Leora Villanueva of Villanueva, NM; and nephews: Edmond and Manuel Gallegos Jr. both of Pueblo, CO, Juan A. Gallegos and wife Caroline of Villanueva,NM, Dr. Frank Gallegos and wife Loretta of Las Vegas, NM; three sisters-in-law: Josephine Gallegos and Aurelia Gallegos of villanueva, NM, and Pita Gonzales and husband Eutimio of Gonzales Ranch, NM; two brothers-in-law, Ben Lujan of White Rock, NM and Tomas Lucero and wife Erlinda of Amarillo, TX; and by numerous other nieces and nephews. He was born in Villanueva, NM on May 26, 1924 and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Villanueva, NM. He was the bell ringer at the church for many years. Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Villanueva, NM with a rosary on Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 21, 2008 at 12:00 noon by
Father Thomas Kayammakai. The interment will follow in the Gallegos Family Cemetery in Villanueva, NM. Serving as casket bearers will be Tim Gallegos, Frank "Poncho" Gonzales, Manuel Gallegos, Joseph J. Villanueva, David Michael Romero, David Lucero, Lupe Gutierrez, and Peter Gallegos. Honorary bearers will be Juan A. Gallegos and Tomas Lucero. A visitation will be held on Sunday at the church from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Andres I. Gallegos will deliver the eulogy.
