Roger A Sena

Roger A. Sena, 74, a life long resident of Las Vegas; passed away in the arms of his loved ones on Thursday morning following and extended illness. He is survived by his wife, Socorro "Koko" M. Sena of the family home; three sons: Christopher Sena and Wife Jessica of Las Vegas, NM, Paul David Sena of Lakewood, CO, and Michael Sena and wife Delaine of Superior, CO; one brother, Paul J. Sena of Rodeo, CA; nine grandchildren: Cody Schroeder of San Bernadino, CA, Chelsea Schroeder of Las Vegas, NM, Tomas Sena and wife Stormi of Vernal, UT, Roberto Sena and Ranee Sena both of Las Vegas, NM, Laura, Kristen, Angela, and Michael Sena Jr. all of Superior, CO; one great-granddaughter, Rayna Rose Sena of Vernal, UT; numerous nephews and nieces, and special friends: John Moya, Bob Sumpter, and Ernie Herrera.A life long catholic he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church and a one time was a minister of the Holy Eucharist at the church. After Roger finished high school, he worked at the Meadows Home for the Aged. He then joined the U. S. Navy and was honorably discharged from the service. He married Socorro "Koko" Trujillo and November 22, 1957 here in Las Vegas. That relationship lasted 51 years. He worked for the City of Las Vegas Gas Utility for four years and then moved to California and worked there as an automotive technician. He came back to New Mexico and worked for Dick Hughes Automotive in Santa Fe for six years. He then moved to Las Vegas and worked at Camp Luna. He was also a security guard at New Mexico Highlands University for four years, and worked at the United World College for five years. He enjoyed music playing the guitar and enjoyed camping.The will be no visitation but a rosary will be recited Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. from Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Cremation will follow and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Sorrows Church. The interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family has requested that memorials in his memory be made to the Heating and Air Conditioning Fund at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 403 Valencia, Las Vegas, NM.
