Rudy "Roots" Duran

Rudy "Roots" Duran, 53, a life long resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012. He was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Duran; his son, Mark Martinez; a step-father, Jose Benavidez; brothers David and Lawrence Duran, and a nephew Kevin Duran.
He is survived by his mother, Maria Eslinda Duran of Las Vegas, NM; and six sisters: Sally Maes and husband John of Denver, CO, Nancy Ortiz and husband Leroy of Pueblo, CO, Marcella Palomino, Theresa Madrid, and Jo Ann Duran all of Las Vegas, NM, and Patsy Leonard of Albuquerque, NM and by a grandson, Joseph Iziah Martinez.
Services will be held from the East Drive Baptist Church with a prayer service on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. and the funeral service will be on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. The interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: Jesus Palomino, Anthony Palomino, Johnny Maes, Billy Madrid, Tim Alires, Dino Alires, and Larry Alires.
