Sarah Elizabeth (Varisco) Hager, of Woodward, Iowa passed away peacefully at home in Las Vegas, NM on June 12, 2011 from an extended illness. She was born on September 11, 1935 in Woodward, Iowa to Donald and Esther (Wright) Varisco.
Sarah was a stay at home mom and wife. She took care of her family with much love, kindness, compassion, and humor. She loved her family and her pets unendingly. She enjoyed collecting and making dolls, sewing and crafting. She loved reminiscing about her childhood and her family past and present. She will be deeply missed by her family. She married Frank Hager on August 24, 1965 in Saratoga, Wyoming. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, son, Mark Todd Hager; daughter, Lori Beth (Hager) Hoxie,; sisters: Shirley Irene Howe and Ethyl Ann Ouverson.
She is survived by her husband Frank Hager of Las Vegas, NM; two sisters, Donna Maston of Wheatland, WY and Vicky Lobmeyer and husband Ray of Clear Lake IA; three daughters: Brenda Rojas and husband Jerry of Phoenix, AZ, Jeanne Donahue and husband Kevin of El Cajon, CA, Lisa Dale and husband Jason of Las Vegas, NM; one son, Bruce White and wife Terresa of Craig, CO; son-in-law Stephen Hoxie of Clovis, NM; and dear friends Linda Riley and husband Richard of Carlsbad, NM; and the following grandchildren: Ely White, Trinity, Kelsey, and Jamin Dale, A. J. Rojas, David and Amanda Donahue, Jerrod Riley, and many nieces and nephews
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, June 25 , 2011 at the First United Presbyterian Church 1000 Douglas Avenue at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Randy Campbell will officiate.
