Sherry Ann Clancy

Sherry Ann Clancy, 61, a resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on April 4, 2011. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayland Clancy; a nephew, Mitchell Campbell and a cousin Patrick Hambrick. She is survived by her mother, Doris Clancy, a sister, Lynda Clancy; a brother-in-law, Michael Campbell; all of Albuquerque, NM; cousins Susie and Mike Hambrick and their families; aunts and uncle, Maryann and George Hambrick and Deann Clancy; cousins Brian and Lee Clancy and their families, Patrick Hambrick's family and Susie and Kojak Jones. She was a beloved sister, daughter, and aunt that will be missed.
She was born on January 15, 1950 in Sayre, Oklahoma. Lynda and Sherry spent many years of their adult life, living, playing and working together in Oklahoma and in Albuquerque. They were inseparable. She missed her daddy and is now in the warmth of his love. Sherry Ann loved her community of Las Vegas and she proved it by being a member of the Rotary Club, helping found the Las Vegas Peace and Justice Center, a member of the El Vocal Artist Cooperative Gallery, and living with her loving neighbors and co-workers. She was employed by Highlands University, the Optic newspaper, the Plaza Hotel, and most recently the City of Las Vegas.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the Sala de Madrid on the Highlands University campus at 1:00 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to Lynda Clancy to defray funeral expenses to in turn, replenish their mother's life care expenses and can be sent to her at 1711 Hermosa Drive N.E. Albuquerque, NM, 87110. Donations will also be welcomed by the Las Vegas Peace and Justice Center, P. O. Box 2603, Las Vegas, NM or to the Las Vegas Arts Council, P. O. Box 2603, Las Vegas, NM and by any animal shelter.
