Shirley A. (Bresett) Bennett

Shirley A. Bennett, 89, a lifelong resident of Montezuma, NM passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday.  She was preceded in death by her parents:  Dell and Freda Wells Bresett, her husband, Robert George Bennett, and a sister, Jeanne Latson.  She is survived by two sons:  David Bennett of Las Vegas, NM, and Eric Bennett and wife Irene of Edgewood, NM; a daughter, Roxanne Sanchez and husband Carl of Mesa, AZ; four grandchildren:  Mark Bennett of Seattle WA, Michelle Bennett of Edgewood, NM, Karlie Sanchez and Christian Sanchez both of Mesa, AZ.

            She was born in Las Vegas, NM on July 21, 1928 and worked for Public Service Company of New Mexico as a clerk for 25 years.  After she retired from PNM she worked for State Farm Insurance Company and had been a sales representative for Avon Cosmetics since 1990 until she retired in 2012.  She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.

            Services will be held from Immaculate Conception Church on Monday,, April 2, 2018 beginning with a rosary at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial.  The interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers:  Ron Ortega, Esteban Medina, John Gonzalez, Carl Sanchez, Frank Armijo, and Steve Jordan.
