Teresa V. (Vecere) Quintana

Teresa V. Quintana, 91, a long time resident of Las Vegas, passed away at the Rosemont Assisted Living Facility in Santa Fe, NM on Monday morning. She was preceded in death by her parents, Giuseppe P. and Emilia Espinoza Vecere and her husband, Fred Quintana in 1975 and a sister, Lucia Sandoval on April 10, 2008. She is survived by her children, Isabel R. Quintana of the family home in Las Vegas, Maria Langlois of Santa Fe, NM, Fabiola Rodriquez and husband Joe of Sun City, AZ; Emilia Buell and husband Paul of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Paul Quintana and wife Pauline of Tucumcari, NM; and Robert Quintana and wife Rhonda of Las Vegas, NM. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, a sister, Josefa Sandoval of Santa Fe, NM and a brother, Carlos Vecere of Mesilla, NM and the following cousins she considered as siblings, Sabino, Maggie, Berna, James, as well as many other friends and relatives. She was born in Black Lake, NM on January 10, 1917 to Giuseppe P. and Emilia Espinoza Vecere. She married Ferdinando Quintana on November 10, 1934 in Wagon Mound, NM. They made their home in Ledoux, NM until they moved to the Storrie Project east of Las Vegas, NM in 1947 where they farmed, ranched and raised their family. She loved to cook and bake and was known for her white cheese that she made, worked in her garden, and sewing. She loved house plants, and raised chickens, sheep, and lambs. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. Services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church with a rosary on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. Father George V. Salazar will celebrate the Mass. The interment will follow in the Quintana Family Cemetery in Ledoux, NM. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.gonzalesfunerals.com.
