The Mass of Christian Burial for Lorrie Reed Serrano, 60, a resident of Las Vegas who passed away on Sunday in Albuquerque, was celebrated this morning at 9:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Father C. John Brasher celebrated the Mass. The interment followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The eulogy was delivered by Geneva Chaparro.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Sofia Torres; one son, Joseph Benavidez; five sisters, Lucy Padilla, Geneva Chavez, Marcella Montoya, Fabbie Calderon, and Linda Medrano; and by a brother, Johnny R. Torres.She is survived by her husband Teodoro Serrano of Las Vegas; three sons, Albert Torres of West Virginia, and Frankie Benavidez and Willie Baca both of Albuquerque, NM; three sisters, Theresa Trujillo of Albuquerque, Priscilla Lauritzen and husband Jim of Punta Gorda, FL, and Lenore Ortega and husband Jim of La Manga; three brothers, Tony Torres and wife Virginia, Manuel Torres, and Steve Torres and wife Cathy all of Las Vegas; three sisters-in-law, Yolanda Lujan, Martha Martinez, and Irma Salas all of El Paso, TX; a grandson, Mario Padilla of Las Vegas; six brothers-in-law, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and per special pets, Gremlin and Guera. Arrangements were under the direction of Billy G. Rogers at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations. 425-9319.
